Guidelines for Listings, Articles, and Contests.
Before you submit your listing, article or contest,
please read the following guidelines. Once you read the guidelines, you can click on the Reservation Form link to reserve
your space in the 2010 Writer Watchdog Self-Publishing Directory.
LISTINGS
Writer Watchdog will only accept listings via our Listing Reservation Form. If you have any difficulties using this form, please contact Writer Watchdog for assistance. Writer Watchdog publishes the exact text that you submit to us. Please make certain that you have proofed your text
for accuracy. Do not format your listing text (bullet lists,
etc.). Compose your text in simple paragraph form. Limit your listing text to
150 - 200 words. If any listing text exceeds 200 words, Writer Watchdog reserves the right to edit the listing to reduce the
word count. Include your preferred contact information within the body of your
listing text. Writer Watchdog automatically includes the resource's web address as part of the heading for each listing. If you are offering a discount, include the discount information in your listing. Writer Watchdog will attempt to place your listing in more than 1 category if applicable. If you
desire more than one category listing, please list each category in order of preference. We do not promise additional listings
and our final decision will be based on space available and whether or not we believe your primary services qualify your listing
for additional categories. Your listing must be received by October 1,
2009.
ARTICLES
If you intend to contribute an article, please make sure you have
reserved space for your article via our Listing Reservation Form. If you have any difficulties using this form, please contact Writer Watchdog for assistance. Send your completed article to: article@writerwatchdog.com . In the subject line of your email address box, please list the name of your company, followed by the word "Article."
( Your Company Name - Article ). Writer Watchdog publishes the exact
text that you submit to us. Please make certain that you have proofed your text for accuracy. Do not format your article text (bullet lists, etc.). Compose your text in simple paragraph
form and submit as an MS Word file. Your article must be informative, not self-promotional.
You may, however, include a general byline that includes contact information. Please contact Writer Watchdog if you have questions
or need assistance. You may contribute up to 5 articles. Writer Watchdog
does not guarantee the publication of any article submitted. Writer Watchdog
is primarily interested in articles that deal with self-publishing processes / phases that include but are not limited
to: methods of self-publishing, editing, book design, marketing, promotion, social media, and industry trends. Ideally, articles
will provide information and advice that will help self-published writers succeed. Remember that the Writer Watchdog
Self-Publishing Directory is for those writers who have already written their books and are now ready to publish
and promote. Your article(s) must be received by October 1, 2009.
CONTESTS
If you intend to sponsor a contest, please make sure you have reserved
space for your contest via our Listing Reservation Form. If you have any difficulties using this form, please contact Writer Watchdog for assistance. Send your contest text or formatted contest advertisement to: contest@writerwatchdog.com. In the subject line of your email address box, please list the name of your company, followed by the word "Contest."
( Your Company Name - Contest ). You may submit your contest in
2 different formats: MS Word Text File or Adobe PDF. MS Word Text
File:If your contest announcement is text only, without images or any type of design, you can submit your contest
as an MS Word Text File. Writer Watchdog will format the text. Your word count must fit on a 5.5 x 8.5 page. Adobe PDF: If your contest announcement includes images or any type of design,
you must submit your contest as a 5.5 x 8.5 print-quality PDF. Writer
Watchdog publishes the exact text that you submit to us. Please make certain that you have proofed your text for
accuracy. Your contest announcement must include a deadline, instructions on
how to enter, and an award date. You are responsible for the delivery of your award as promised and by the date promised. Writer Watchdog will publish up to 10 contest announcements and reserves the right to refuse the
publication of any contest for any reason. Writer Watchdog can design your
contest announcement / page for a nominal fee. If you are in need of this assistance, please contact Writer Watchdog. Your contest announcement must be received
by October 1, 2009.
